Position Overview:
The Planogram and Category Analyst will be responsible for developing and optimizing product layouts (planograms) and analyzing product performance across multiple categories to drive sales, improve customer experience, and ensure efficient store operations. This role combines both strategic analysis and creative problem-solving, balancing sales data, consumer insights, and merchandising standards to enhance the effectiveness of product displays and category management.
The Planogram and Category Analyst will be responsible for developing and optimizing product layouts (planograms) and analyzing product performance across multiple categories to drive sales, improve customer experience, and ensure efficient store operations. This role combines both strategic analysis and creative problem-solving, balancing sales data, consumer insights, and merchandising standards to enhance the effectiveness of product displays and category management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planogram Development: Create and implement effective planograms for Cannabis NB retail stores that align with sales goals, customer preferences, and brand standards.
- Category Management: Analyze sales performance and trends across various product categories, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Product Placement Optimization: Use data-driven insights to determine the most effective product placement and assortment strategies, ensuring that customers can easily find and purchase desired products.
- Collaboration: Work closely with merchandising, marketing, and retail teams to ensure planograms and category strategies align with seasonal promotions, new product launches, and customer demands.
- Data Analysis: Leverage sales and inventory data to identify key trends, optimize product assortment, and create actionable insights to maximize store profitability.
- Visual Merchandising: Ensure consistent and visually appealing product displays, maximizing space efficiency while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of planogram and category strategies, providing regular updates and recommending improvements based on performance metrics.

Staff Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to store teams to ensure the proper execution of planograms and category management strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in planogram development, category management, or retail analytics (preferably in the cannabis or consumer goods industry).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage sales data to inform merchandising strategies.
- Proficiency in planogram software (e.g., JDA, Spaceman, or similar tools).
- Deep understanding of retail space planning, category management, and visual merchandising best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data and strategies in a clear and actionable manner.

- Must be willing to travel to our locations across New Brunswick when needed for meetings and events; note that some events may take place after business day/weekends
